Today, 74 countries are celebrating “Safer Internet Day [SID]”. Though the Philippines is not yet observing this annual event, WSPH is doing it’s part in promoting cyber wellness on this part of the world. We have been in schools, private businesses, government offices, tv and radio programs promoting responsible use of social media, internet safety, and digital parenting. Our campaign started with parents on June 2010, since then, our programs evolved to include youth, NGO’s for child protection, Nannies and professionals.

We believed that the best tool to combat cyber abuses, since we do not have yet a cyber crime law and a collective national cyber wellness campaign, is to inform and educate the users.

After we started the advocacy, GMA 7 also launched it’s “think before you click” campaign, PNP CIDG launched it’s Project Angel Net,  and the Philippine Senate also passed the cyber crime bill. This is good for the Philippines who enjoys liberal democracy and  internet freedom.

To keep the internet a safer place for everyone, what will be your small contribution?
